Photoshop: Animated Text TuT - wassim - 10-10-2010 [SIZE="5"] Firstly I would like to point out that I discovered how to create animated signatures by following [COLOR="Orange"][SIZE="5"]Wergy's amazing TuT. [/SIZE][/B][/SIZE][/COLOR]
http://sg-forum.info/showthread.php?t=46868 for this TuT you will need photoshop and some experience is always better. [SPOILER] [/SPOILER]If you would like to view my photoshop project that i used for this TuT download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?yi7ot378cybrtoi If you don't have photoshop, get it [B]here (Credits to Chris/Oak Tree) Here is What we will be making today: ![]() 1. Setup [SPOILER] Go to 'file' and then 'new'. Set the canvas size to what you like but i recommend 400x150 pixels. Use the paint bucket tool to set the background color to the forum grey color. RGB (44,44,44) (If you want to get the most precision try taking a screenshot of the forums and then paste it onto photoshop in a new project and grab the background color of a page directly from there). ![]() [/SPOILER] 2. Text [SPOILER] Use the text tool to add some text, you can adjust it to the size you like, i'm going to use size '72'. Size varies depending on how much text you are adding and the canvas size. You may also chose a font, i'm going to use 'Bauhaus 93' because i like it. ![]() EDITING: Your text is plain, you'll need to add some life to it. Double clicking on the text layer will bring up a 'layer style' window. Here is what I set it to but you may play around with these settings. ![]() [/SPOILER] 3. Animation [SPOILER] In my signatures, the animation works this way: every letter has a picture and these pictures pop up one at the time. Therefore you will need one separate layer for each letter. a) Right click on the text layer and select 'rasterize text' b) duplicate this layer as many times as you need to so you end up with as many layers as letters you have in the signature. Ex.: if the text has 6 letters, you will have 6 layers. ![]() Next, using the eraser tool, you will need to erase letters in each layer in a way that you will only have one letter per layer. Each layer will be attributed to one letter of the text so that when you animate, each picture that appears will represent one letter.(Tip: start with the lower layer and hide the above). ![]() Now that you are ready to animate, go to 'window', 'animation' and then an animation panel will appear at the bottom of your screen. You will need to be familiar with this panel. Start by hiding all layers except for the background. ![]() Now you will need to add a frame . ![]() When you add that second frame, it should be the same as the first. Then unhide the layer that represents the first letter. The second frame should change but the first should be the same as before. Now you have 2 frames, the 1st is empty and the second is showing the first letter. again make another frame and unhide another layer and so on .... when you finish you should have something like this: ![]() Creating the 'fade in' frames: next to the duplicate layer button you'll notice another called 'Tweens animation frames'. Select the first layer and click on the tween animation button. Now when the window pops up you could select how many frames you want to add in between. ![]() Do this to every initial frame so that every letter has a transition. Make the frame that has the all the text layers visible last longer and fade out longer by setting it to 10. [/SPOILER] 4. Saving the project [SPOILER] ![]() Keep the default settings. ![]() then hit save, name it. upload it to http://www.tinypic.com and paste the [IMG] code onto the forums. The END ![]() [/SPOILER] Photoshop: Animated Text TuT - Missingno - 10-10-2010 [COLOR="DarkOrange"]Excellent tutorial, mate.
