I believe you get it for being a member of the forums for 180 days, not for posts.

But I'm not sure as it suddenly magically appeared, as I should of got it a month or two ago but I had the donator symbol instead.

Yah, you need 500 posts, and the time needed, but it's probably because you had the Donar thing, thats maybe why you didn't get it RIGHT away :/
