You can't get addicted to weed. You don't go through withdraw if you stop using it so it's not classified as being addicted... People choose to do it a lot.. nothing is holding them to it.

They might not be physically hooked on the drug but they are using it as a crutch, as a coping mechanism for their life. If they have a bad day, they have to smoke marijuana in order to medicate themselves. If they have a good day, they want to smoke in order to celebrate this fact. If they are sick with a cold or the flu, they need to smoke in order to feel better and be able to function."

no it isn't medically addictive, but because MOST people who use it for reasons other than medical use it numerous times everyday and for any reason they can deem justifiable i personally would call it an addiction.
