i cant say royal with a R because it is a common noun

When used as a name, it is capitalized.

How do you know that's not her real name? (Hypothetically speaking).

Whenever someone addresses themselves as a name, you capitalize it because it then becomes a proper noun.

Being used in the context "The royal prince took a bow and left as the peasants watched enviously," would then make it a common noun which wouldn't be capitalized.

Being used in the context "Royal, the town farmer, went to work today and never came back," would then make it a proper noun which would be capitalized.[/COLOR]
