Ben, and Kupre were maxed way before mod.

No. Do I have to explain why? No.

Hey look. Where are Kurpe and Ben now? They got maxed, got on staff, and feel they accomplished everything they set out to do. Then resigned. Gta has been an admin, and isn't doing it to stroke his own ego or self accomplishments.

I think that is irrelevant. He is an ex-admin, and obviously knows the ropes. He is clearly capable of not only sustaining a staff position, but also excelling to the level required to be promoted.

Think of it like this, and it may come across the wrong way.

"Well I'll only be active if I'm a mod". Maybe he doesn't like pking, maybe he doesn't like sitting around waiting for people that can't contact a staff member. So if the current staff need a staff member he is telling them that he is available.

Kind of like Agent asking "Hanging On" to come back to the staff team, despite not being active, because he believes he was a good staff member. This is like a resume. He meets the qualifications, and has the experience. If they feel inclined to give him another shot, they will.

http://sg-forum.info/members/agentmaio11/hanging-on/

By making this application, he is basically saying he WILL meet everyone's expectations as far as being active goes, why else would he apply? Think of how many people were active, got mod, and quit a month later. Maybe he just likes having that level of respect and or authority whilst helping. Maybe he enjoys doing player reports? ::Help requests? That isn't something he'd be able to do easily, if at all as a normal player. Some people don't realize you don't have to be a staff member to help players. Nor do you have to be an active player, in order to become a good staff member.

Think if I went and made a moderator app. A majority of people would vote no for a few reasons.

1.) I sit at ::Superzone all day punching farmers.
2.) I'm not a post whore.
3.) Insert your insult here.

In response to #2.. I only reply to a thread after reading every single reply. I only post if my post is going to have merit, help, and or contribute to the thread overall. Although I do post the occasional short trollish post, but I guarantee it probably has more originality and or thought than the people who repeat everyone else, and modify a few words. (Excluding the spam forum)

Does that mean I'm not capable or suitable to be a mod? No.

I was a Moderator on an RS forum in 2011. In two months, I got more mod logs, post count, referrals, and infractions given than Flow (An Admin), who was a staff member for 6+ months. I was even super lenient when giving out infractions. Usually I'd just delete the post, and move on.

I will add to this antidote, by saying Brittany was also a member of this forum. She was new, and didn't post a lot compared to other members. We asked for community INPUT in regards to promotions. Next to no one suggested her. We still decided to make her a staff member and everyone was mad saying "we didn't listen to the community". We listiened, and took it into consideration. With 2 or 3 of the 4 new moderators being "fan favorites". Brittany went on to become one of the best staff members the site would ever see (The site is no longer around).

I don't personally apply for three reasons, even though I'm capable.

1.) People don't like me.
2.) There are more deserving people.
3.) I'm satisfied helping people how I am now, as you don't need to be a staff member to help.

It is one thing if they decided to promote gta when he was just mining ores, and wasn't expecting it. Why promote someone who isn't active in the community and doesn't help? It is another thing to promote an ex-administrator who is asking for the responsibility, and knows better than anyone non former staff member just how much time is required to fulfill the position at an adequate level.

I'm not saying he should become a staff member, I'm just simply throwing out there that being known by the community, and being active, ultimately means nothing. Either someone will be active or they won't. A simple demote fixes inactivity, if that is the skepticism.

I barely know gta, but he seems like a nice guy and more qualified than people with open applications.

/end rant. Was bored, and I make a valid point anyways, so f any1 who "tl;drs".

Did I insult a single player (Besides Gabe)? No. I'm just simply trying to open their eyes. I have nothing left to say or add to what I just said. I'd rather get everything out on one post, as proposed to bickering back and fourth. They can take it how they want, no offense was intended in my post. Players will always be entitled to their own opinion.
