Recently started playing, I've been doing a lot of clue scrolls, so I decided to go for a firecape, First try, and I killed jad. Heres the cape:

Melee was easy, I brought a sol with me thinking I could just use the spec and not get hit, but I'm not 75 mage yet haha.

I'm pretty sure you could. I did with with melee on a level 58 with one attack and defense.
