Welcome to silabgarza, the place where everything relies on friend ties.
I was expecting a more logical reason, my bad for overestimating you. By your terms, PK-ing mods aren't anything special as well, right? Obviously this is not true, because we need diversity in the staff team, and Ben fits that really well. Thing is, Ben has other characteristics that make him stand out from those other skillers. (ie: Grammar, intelligence, activity, level-headed, involved, desire to the help the community, etc.) So no, not any skiller can just become moderator. I don't support people just because they're a friend or how well-known they are in the community. If I support someone, it's because I'm sure that they'll deliver & won't disappoint the community.
I honestly don't know who told you that you need to do something special to become a moderator. I'll tell you now that 90% of the staff members who have ever been hired never did anything 'special' to get promoted. Users get hired based on capability, not their achievements on the game.
PS: If you consider helping users at home or in other public areas 'special', your justification just went a level lower in my book.[/SIZE][/COLOR]
