Especially with the shit that you'll get from those who you have to punish, but everybody experiences it differently and I'd be willing to see how you do with it.
It may be a bit soon, but you're quite a mature person. I haven't seen your amount of patience yet, but I think you would do a fine job.

Hmm... I see where you're coming from, and I can honestly say that that may be an issue, but I'm doing the best I can to sort these problems out, because I'm dedicated to making myself a better person as a whole. It's something I always strive to do.
And I do understand that a moderator position isn't all fun and games. I always look down upon people who do think that. It's a serious position: After all, Brittany and Travis are giving you a small amount of power on something that they have built together from scratch. If I were them, I'd also put some serious consideration on a decision like this.

I can see why you haven't seen me helping much, but that's because I haven't been in-game as of late, and a lot of my helping in-game is done via private messaging, something that a lot of people don't realize.
And believe me, this app was not influenced by the EotYA's at all.[/COLOR]

People view you as very in control and intelligent and this is why you'll get moderator, if not this month or the next then in a couple months. It makes me sad because I see some people who log in everyday, help, PK, and try to connect with the community in general that won't receive the position because they are from different countries and have bad English, or do not use the forums.
When you told me your plan to apply in January on tinychat I was a little disgusted. You're all smoke and mirrors in my opinion. You appear to be the great guy that deserves moderator but you aren't, I've never seen you help anyone.
You came to the server to become a moderator, which is wrong.
For these reasons, /No support.

Ok pat I know your new but im going to be honest.
Positives-you're a great guy to talk to and is like the best guy in 2012. What you post on the forums are so fun to read and are useful.
Negative-Your activity points are low. I haven't seen you helping that much. We have a lot of mods atm that are active. I haven't seen you in game that much.
So........
Im going to go with......
/holding get active and raise that activity and help more  .

I think you're a great person and really deserve this position. All though you may be a new comer you have showed many characteristics that I haven't seen out of many players in Sg. You're like able, fun to talk to, great at communicating. Yes, there are somethings you need to work on more for this position but all in all I think that you would make a great mod..
Now somethings you need to work on; Pat, you're not as active as I used to see as you were. You may be active on the forums more then in-game but this is an In-game application. Now this may be because of time zones but when I was on you were as well. I don't know what happened. Also you need to work on helping a bit more. Yes, you do help here and there when it is asked which is great. But you take more time skilling then doing anything else. Fixing these reasons I don't see any single reason why you shouldn't get this position.

These'll be my last posts before I head off to bed.
I respect any opinion or feedback I get as long as it's not outright flaming.
Anyway, in response to this I have a few things to say: I did not come to this server to become a moderator, ask anyone I've been in close contact with and they will tell you that I first seriously considered applying when I had been here for roughly 3 months.
I knew this was coming from you, and I can tell you right now: I'm not a fake person. Every single post, and every conversation that I have had with anyone on here, has been legitimate. Sure, maybe I word myself a little more formally than I would in real life, but as long as the intentions and basis of whatever it is I am saying are understood, than what should it matter?
The point is, that when it comes to serious matters such as a moderator application, I treat it as something serious, something professional, because that's what stands out from someone who will half-ass an application, and hope for the position because they've helped out for 3 days out of an entire year of playing here. I believe that I am still the same person that I was when I first joined here, after gaining as much recognition as I have from other members of the community, and as mentioned in my response to Matt, a lot of my help goes unnoticed, because I do a lot of it via private messages in-game.
Your feedback matters a lot to me Gabe, and I respect the fact that you've maintained what I predicted you to tell me when I first told you that I was considering applying. It shows a real strength of character. Thanks so much for being honest.

[COLOR="White"][SIZE="2"]I find 4 months too soon indeed. There is alot to learn even after 2 years ingame, because of that I find 4 months too early. Also because you have alot of things to do ingame, you don't have full time to do your job, not that its really nessecary but it could be a considerable facotr.
Also I find your application very weird. It says alot about you, as person, but no specific reasons why YOU should be mod. Even though I agree on some things you say, there is something I miss in this application.
I'm sure you'll learn alot about this application and if you're still the same in like 4/5 months, I'll give you a Yes.

What is it about then, having good grammar?
When you punish or ban a rule breaker, you're helping the players that haven't done anything wrong by taking someone who could hurt them (Like a scammer/xlogger/or duper) out of the game.[/SIZE][/COLOR]
